Pine Valley Day

July 25, 2009

Pine Valley Day is just around the corner, so make sure you mark your calendars for July 25th. Be sure to start off the day with breakfast burritos at the Pine Valley Clubhouse prepared by the Pine Valley Community Church from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Following that is the Pine Valley Parade. The parade begins at 9:00AM and makes its way along Historic Old Highway 80. Following the parade, mosey-on-down to the Pine Valley County Park. Here you will find craft vendors, food, and fun. We’ve also rounded-up two of San Diego County’s hottest bands, Southbound Jonny and The HonkyTonk Kings. And what would Pine Valley Day be without the famous deep pit BBQ dinner cooked to perfection and served to you by the Mountain Empire Men’s Club?  For the latest updates, please check back at www.PineValleyDay.com

Pine Valley Day is getting more and more expensive to produce each year. One example is the Pine Valley Park, which this year will cost the club over $700.00 to rent for the day. We’ll need to sell a lot of BBQ dinners this year just to break even! If you are interested in helping out, whether it be by volunteering or by helping defray some of the costs, please contact MEMC president Ken Minott at 619-473-1096 or email us at mountainempiremc@hotmail.com

Proceeds from Pine Valley Day fund college scholarships for backcountry high school seniors and other community activities such as the Senior Holiday Dinner, Santa’s House and more. The Mountain Empire Men’s Club is a 501(c)(3) organization.

Check back often as we add more information and activities.

We also continue to remind everyone that by supporting the MEMC, you can support our local schools programs, student scholarships and other community projects. We look forward to your continuing support at our upcoming functions. We also invite any other men in the Mountain Empire to join us.
